Dengue is Serious!
I wasn't able to write for the past 6 days or so due to serious illness. My youngest son and I took in with some flu like symptoms and went to the nearby health facility. We were attended to quite readily and spent about 45 minutes total. During our visit we saw many others persons who also had similar but worse symptoms like us. In our country today there are folks who have contracted the deadly dengue fever and have died from it. I spoke to 2 persons I knew who had similar complaints like mine: fever, pain, headache, loss of appetite, no taste(all foods tasted very bland) dizziness, drowsiness and tiredness. My personal experience was a terrible ordeal lasting 6 days with the only relief being the painkillers I had to take every 6 hours. The worst aspect was the fever that would not break. It just went on and on.... Another sore point was the incessant lower back pain that was not helped much by the painkillers. I don't know if it was a good thing but the painkillers had my sleeping long hours! That was a relief of sort but contributed to the back pain. I still count myself and my son as being very fortunate compared to some people who had to be hospitalized. I am still awaiting the results of a blood test to determine whether I had contracted dengue or not. I say thank God for all the hard working health care professionals who continue to give outstanding service to their countrymen and nation. Thank God for good kids! They filled in and did my chores! So thank you Andrew, Chris, Rhia and Rhian! God bless you all. So do all you can to avoid dengue! As we say here in tnt "I ent wish this for my wus enemy". That's to say how awful the thing is: Dengue Is Serious!
